A nap a day..

I feel as though all the naps I turned down and kicked up a fuss about having when I was a child should have been tallied up and put in the bank ready for me to redeem at a later date, I’d cash them all in, in one go, and have a weeks worth of sleep! I don’t think that would be a waste of my annual leave at work what so ever. Theres an article that I read recently which stated that a nap a day is actually good for your health – who didn’t already know this? I like to think of myself as a professional napper. I can go for a nap at any time, and pretty much anywhere. People say to me “yeah I love naps, 10 minutes here and 20 minutes there”, no. Anything less than an hour does not constitute a nap, more like a prolonged blink. It’s the waking up that I struggle with. I booked to go to the cinema at 9pm once and thought I’d get a nap in first.. Closed my eyes at 7 and woke up the next morning. I slept through every alarm that I have to set in order to give myself a chance of getting up when I plan to (the old “I’m not a morning person” doesn’t really apply to me, more like “I’m not an awake person”). I went to see the film the next day – I don’t remember what it was or if it was any good, but I’ve never forgotten that nap! As I sit here writing this, it’s occurred to me that maybe I should have more going on in life if the highlight of my day currently is napping.
